Mechan are closely following government guidelines and are taking all possible steps to keep our employees, customers and railway partners as safe as we can. That being said, we are still fully operational at this time.
The majority of Mechan office staff are now working full time from home, with access to all the information required to carry out their roles. We currently have an on call engineer available 24/7 as normal.
Our production staff and service engineers are taking all necessary precautions to allow them to keep conducting their role as normal. Our site and service manager, Dean will be contacting the relevant depot site personnel prior to each service engineer visiting to discuss extra requirements and any possible issues, including canteen arrangement changes during this time.
Please respect government guidelines when our engineers are at your site servicing. Ensure they are aware where hand washing facilities are, and also any individual site rules they need to be aware of. Keeping to a 2m distance away from other personnel is crucial at this time.
It is imperative that you let us, and our engineers know prior to them attending site if your site has had a known or suspected case of coronavirus.
We are happy to rearrange any service visits planned where possible, however please ensure that LOLER visits are prioritised to adhere to regulations. Equipment training should be looked at with Dean, on an individual basis to minimise close contact between workers.
Mechan is committed to keeping trains and depots in service as much as we possibly can. If you need your lifting equipment maintaining, even if you don’t currently use our services, please get in touch and we will support you if we are able to.
Let’s work together to keep the railway system moving, customers, and rail workers and their families safe.
